Biological activities

SC-514 is an IΚB kinase-β (IKK-β) inhibitor. SC-514 inhibits various forms of recombinant IKK-β with IC50s ranging from 3 to 12 μM.[1] SC-514 inhibits three representative NF-ΚB-induced genes (IL-6, IL-8, and COX-2) with IC50s of 20, 20 and 8 μM, respectively.[2] SC-514 inhibits receptor activator of nuclear factor ΚB ligand (RANKL)-induced osteoclastogenesis. SC-514 induces apoptotic cell death and activation of caspase 3 in osteoclast-like (OCL) cells.[3] SC-514 is also efficacious in vivo in the rat LPS-induced TNFα model of acute inflammation.[2]

Protocols

In vitro, SC-514 is dissolved in DMSO.[3]
