Biological activities

3-Methyladenine is a selective PI3K inhibitor for Vps34 (IC50= 25?M)and PI3K?(IC50= 60?M). It blocks class I PI3K consistently while it is transient for class III PI3K [1]. 3-Methyladenine blocks apoptosis in cerebellar granule cells (CGCs) following serum and potassium deprivation [2].
