Biological activities

Acetylcholine chloride is an endogenous neurotransmitter. Acetylcholine chloride acts at nicotinic and muscarinic acetylcholine receptors. Acetylcholine chloride can be broken down quickly by choliesterases. Acetylcholine chloride mediates the cellular actions in an auto- and paracrine manner via the activation of the widely expressed nicotinic and muscarinic acetylcholine receptors, which can interfere with virtually all cellular signalling pathways (ion channels and key enzymes). Acetylcholine chloride also plays a role in the regulation of immune functions.[1] Acetylcholine chloride can induce the opening of calcium channels.[2]
