Biological activities

Acitretin is a second-generation retinoid. Acitretin prevents the proliferation of sebocyte only at 10 µM.^[1] Acitretin also inhibits the antigen-presenting properties of epidermal cells.^[2] In addition, it is reported that acitretin suppresses mitogen-induced DNA-synthesis in peripheral blood lymphocytes in vitro.^[3]
