Biological activities

BVT 948 is a non-competitive of protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTP) with IC50 ranging from 90 nM to 1.7 μM. In vitro, BVT 948 is able to enhance insulin signaling in cells. BVT 948 efficiently inhibits several cytochrome P450 (P450) isoforms in vitro. In vivo, BVT 948 also enhances insulin tolerance tests in ob/ob mice, therefore apparently enhancing insulin sensitivity.[1]
