Biological activities

BX471 is a potent nonpeptide CC chemokine receptor-1 (CCR1) antagonist.[1] BX471 inhibits CCR1 receptor with a Ki of 2 nM.[2] In sepsis induced by cecal ligation and puncture, treatment with BX471 significantly protects mice against lung and liver injury by attenuating MPO activity. Blocking CCR1 by BX471 also down-regulates ICAM-1, P-selectin, and E-selectin expression at mRNA and protein levels in lungs and livers.[1] BX471 is used for the potential treatment of autoimmune diseases, in particular multiple sclerosis (MS).[3]

In vivo, BX471 is dissolved in DMSO.[1]
