Biological activities

Crotamiton is an agent that is used both as a scabicidal (for treating scabies) and as a general antipruritic (anti-itching drug). Topical application of 10% crotamiton moderately inhibits histamine-, serotonin-, and PAR-2 agonist-induced scratching behaviors. [1] Crotamiton can alleviate pruritus of breast carcinoma skin infiltration. [2]
