Biological activities

Nandrolone phenpropionate is a phenpropionate ester of nandrolone. Nandrolone is an anabolic steroid. The IC50 of nandrolone is 9 µM against proliferation inhibition of human umbilical vein endothelial cells by cytotoxic assay. Nandrolone is able to induce an increased [Ca2+]i. [1]Nandrolone phenylpropionate results in about a 20% increase in body weight of rats. Nandrolone phenylpropionate also increases in total skull length. Nandrolone phenylpropionate leads to elongation of the maxillary and mandibular incisors. Nandrolone phenylpropionate results in a increase in the depth of the antegonial notch and downward-forward growth of the viscerocranium against the neurocranium.[2] Nandrolone pre-exposure inhibitsδ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) - and food-induced conditioned place preference and increases the somatic manifestations of THC withdrawal.[3]

Protocols

In vitro: Nandrolone is dissolved in 10% ethanol/10% cremophor EL/80% distilled water.[3]
