Biological activities

Indirubin is potent cyclin-dependent kinases and GSK-3M-NM-2 inhibitor with IC50 of about 75 nM and 0.19 ?M, respectively [1]. It inhibits inflammatory reaction in delayed-type hypersensitivity in mice. Indirubin is a ligand of human aryl hydrocarbon receptor and exhibits anti-cancer activity. Indirubin is the major active anti-tumor component of a traditional Chinese herbal medicine used for treatment of chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). In vitro, it can be used by 10 ?M in human K562 CML cells [2].
