Biological activities

Linezolid is a specific inhibitor of 50S ribosomal subunit formation. Linezolid inhibits protein synthesis in S. aureus cells with an IC50 of 0.3 µg/mL. Linezolid prevents 50S synthesis with an IC50 of 0.6 µg/ mL.[1] Linezolid inhibits nocardia brasiliensis strains with an MIC90 and MIC50 of 2 and 1 µg/ mL, respectively.[2]
