Biological activities

LX-1606 is a tryptophan hydroxylase (TPH) inhibitor with antiserotonergic activity. Telotristat binds to TPH to block its activity, resulting in a decrease of the production of peripheral serotonin (5-HT) and improving the effects of serotonin-mediated gastrointestinal. It is developed as a potential remedy to overcome the symptoms associated with carcinoid syndrome.[1] And it can be orally delivered.
