Chemical Structure

Biological activities

Mizoribine is a selective IMPDH enzyme inhibitor. Mizoribine is used as an immunosuppressive agent. Mizoribine inhibits the proliferation of lymphocytess.[1] The IC50 of mizoribine is 4 nM against IMPDH enzyme.[2] Mizoribine almost completely inhibits the growth of L5178Y cells at a concentration of 10 µM. Mizoribine inhibits HCV RNA replication with an IC50 of 100 µM. Mizoribine suppresses the replication of bovine viral diarrhea virus that shares a similar structural organization with HCV. [3] Administration of mizoribine inhibits urinary albumin excretion in Long??vans Tokushima Otsuka (LETO) rats. Mizoribine suppresses renal macrophage accumulation. Mizoribine inhibits the progression of glomerulosclerosis and interstitial fibrosis in non-insulin-dependent diabetic kidneys. [4]

Protocols

In vivo Mizoribine is dissolved in normal saline. [4]
