Biological activities

NS6180 is a novel class of KCa3.1 channel inhibitors. NS6180 inhibits cloned human KCa3.1 channels by amino acid residues T250 and V275 with an IC50 of 9 nM. NS6180 blocks the erythrocyte KCa3.1 channels in all three species (human, mouse and rat) with IC50s of 14, 15 and 9 nM, respectively. NS6180 inhibits production of the Th1 cytokines IL-2 and IFN-g with an IC50 of 50 nM. In rat, NS6180 (3 and 10 mg/kg b.i.d.) dampens colon inflammation and improves body weight gain.[1]

Protocols

In vitro, NS6180 is dissolved in DMSO.[1]
