Biological activities

NSC 87877 is a potent inhibitor of shp2 and shp1 protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTP). The IC50s of NSC 87877 against shp2 and shp1 are 318 and 355 nM, respectively. NSC 87877 also inhibits PTP1B, HePTP, Shp2V280 and Shp2RD with IC50s of 1.691, 7.745, 1.110 and 1.087 μM, respectively. In serum-starved HEK293 cells in vitro, NSC-87877 inhibits EGF-stimulated Shp2 activation and EGF-induced Erk1/2 activation.[1] In vitro, NSC-87877 also effectively inhibits dual-specificity phosphatase 26 (DUSP26)-mediated dephosphorylation of p38, a member of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) family.[2]

In vitro: NSC 87877 is dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO).[3]
