Biological activities

Palomid-529 is a novel and potent PI3K/Akt/mTOR inhibitor. Palomid-529 inhibits TORC1 and TORC2 complexes and also shows inhibition of Akt signaling and mTOR signaling similarly in tumor and vasculature.^[1] Palomid-529 inhibits VEGF-driven and bFGF-driven endothelial cell proliferation with IC50s of 20 and 30 nM, respectively.^[2] In vitro, palomid-529 shows a potent antiproliferative activity in the NCI-60 cell lines panel with a GI50 of <35 μM. In addition, palomid-529 significantly enhances the antiproliferative effect of radiation in prostate cancer cells (PC-3).^[3]
