Biological activities

Pramipexole is a non-ergot dopamine receptor agonist with a 7-10-fold greater affinity for D3 than for D2 receptor subtypes. The affinity for the D4 subtype is 17-fold less than for the D3 subtype ^[1]. Pramipexole is used in the treatment of Parkinson?? disease. Pramipexole binds to human recombinant D2 dopamine receptors with a Ki of 616 nM and to D3 receptors with Ki of 8.5 nM ^[2]. In vivo, it can be used up to a maximum of 4.5 mg daily ^[3].
