Biological activities

Reversine is a small synthetic purine analogue (2,6-disubstituted purine), has been shown to be effective in tumor suppression [1]. These effects of reversine are due to the inhibition of Aurora A and B. The IC50 of reversine is 150 nM for Aurora Kinase A), 500 nM for Aurora Kinase B, and 400 nM for Aurora Kinase C. It also has the potential to induce selectively cell death of cancer cells by stem cell dedifferentiation [2]. In vitro, it can be used by 10?mol/L in U14 cells [3].
