Biological activities

SF1670 is a potent and specific PTEN inhibitor with an IC50 of 2 µM.[1] In vitro, SF1670 (500nM) enhances fMLP-induced PtdIns(3,4,5)P3 signaling in both human and mouse neutrophils. SF1670 treatment also increases chemoattractant-elicited superoxide production in both human and mouse neutrophils. SF1670 treatment enhances fMLP-induced polarization and chemotaxis in mouse neutrophils. In vitro phagocytosis assay and bactericidal assay, treatment with SF1670 enhances bacteria-killing capability of mouse bone marrow-derived neutrophils. In vivo, transfusion with SF1670-pretreated transfused neutrophils also causes augmented bacteria-killing capability (decreased bacterial burden) in neutropenic recipient mice in both peritonitis and bacterial pneumonia.[2]
