Biological activities

Vecuronium bromide is a bromide of vecuronium. Vecuronium is a potent inhibitor of 3H-MPP+ with an IC50 of 127 µM. Vecuronium is a muscle relaxant in the category of non-depolarizing blocking agents. [1] Vecuronium inhibits human organic cation transporter OCT1 with an IC50 of 232 µM. [2] Vecuronium is a strong inhibitor of histamine N-methyltransferase (HNMT) with a Ki of 1 µM. Vecuronium (0.1 mg/kg) delays the metabolism of histamine by HNMT in vitro. High doses of vecuronium can interfere with the HNMT-based radioenzymatic measurement of histamine. [3]

Vecuronium is dissolved and diluted in 0.002 N HCl. [3]
