Biological activities

ZLN005 is a potent and selective small molecule PGC-1? transcriptional activator. ZLN005 increased PGC-1 and downstream gene transcription in skeletal muscle, whereas the expression of hepatic PGC-1? and gluconeogenesis genes was reduced. ZLN005 increased fat oxidation and improved the glucose tolerance, pyruvate tolerance, and insulin sensitivity of diabetic db/db mice. In vitro, ZLN005 was used at 10-20 ?M final concentration. In vivo, ZLN005 was used 15 mg/kg/day in db/db mice for 6 weeks [1].
